Drivers are being warned about fake text messages supposedly from the DVLA asking them to update their details or renew road tax. These messages are a scam and may have the heading ‘Action Required’ or ‘Final Request’, motorists are being advised not to click on any links in the message. There are also warnings about rip-off sites charging for DVLA services which are actually free if done via the official channels. These sites look official and have charged victims for services such as licence renewals.
