Bitcoin

Bitcoin is one of many digital or ‘crypto’ currencies that have emerged over the last decade. Much like cash, bitcoin can be used to pay for goods and services although it is not accepted as valid payment by all businesses and is banned in some countries like China and India. Cryptocurrencies are decentralised, meaning they are not issued by a bank, central governmental authority or other third-party. (See cryptocurrencies)
