Tesco, Lidl and Morrisons are only three of the supermarkets attacked by phishing scams offering ‘Free Shopping’.
The Morrisons scam lured shoppers with free groceries worth £250 via WhatsApp. By clicking on the link, you are taken to a survey with a competition offering a prize, upon completion of your personal details; you are then asked to forward the WhatsApp message to friends.
The Tesco scam is an email mail offering free shopping; it includes a link which once clicked, directs the consumer to a genuine looking website that aims to steal financial and personal information.
Avoid all of these. If you’re not sure about an incoming email – just delete it.
