In Scotland, the public are being warned about a scam targeting people who have a lost pet. The scammers contact the victim by phone and pretend to be from a vet stating that their pet has been found but needs urgent immediate treatment. The scammers request upfront payment over the phone. This scam was highlighted by Perth and Kinross Council Trading Standards.
