Stay away from Dennis Gray, answering his fake tax call could make you pay!
We are aware of a person using the name of Dennis Gray, who’s reaching out to his victims by phone and claiming to be from the HMRC. The scammer usually states that the reason for his call is due to a miscalculation of the victim’s tax returns. Remember the HMRC will never contact you by email, text message or phone call about a tax rebate or penalty, or ask for your personal or payment information.
Update 4th March 2021: There is now an automated version of this scam. It is forceful and can be scary. The call asks you to press one or you will go to prison – be wary!
